History

Viña Bisquertt is a family winery founded more than 40 years ago by Osvaldo Bisquertt and his wife, Soledad Urrutia, with the philosophy to produce terroir-driven wines.

The Bisquertt family were pioneers in the Colchagua Valley, planting their first vines in the mid-1960s on the Fundo Rinconada in Perrillo, and acquiring their first cellar in Lihueimo 10 years later.

At the beginning of the 1980s, Bisquertt began exporting its wines all over the world, with large expansion into the United States. At the same time, we began developing the emblematic La Joya brand, as a symbol of innovation, authenticity, and elegance, and has been recognized with various distinctions both in Chile and internationally.

In 2000, Bisquertt planted the first vines on the El Chequén estate in the Marchihue Valley, part of the Colchagua Valley. With leadership and vision, Bisquertt made a large contribution to consolidate the new-at-the-time Marchihue Denomination of Origin, which is well-known today.

At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the second generation of the family, under the leadership of Sebastián Bisquertt, began adding to the efforts of Don Osvaldo to consolidate Bisquertt as a reference in Chile for quality wines. During this time there was a strong push toward expanding exportations, reaching more than 30 countries.

We love our land, our wines working constantly to create expressive wines from our terroir in Marchihue; fresh and elegant wines.
